The Trust seeks to appoint a Community Beneficiary Trustee for the Sibona Ilanga Trust. Nominations are sought from all sectors of the community within a 50km radius of the De Aar Solar Power plant.
The Sibona Ilanga Trust, which owns an 8% share of the De Aar plant, was established to support social and economic development in the communities within a 50km radius of the plant.

The Sibona Ilanga Trust calls for nominations of suitable candidates from the community within a 50km radius of the De Aar Solar Power plant to be appointed as a community beneficiary trustee for a 3-year term of office.
- Candidates must be nominated by a member of a beneficiary community and the nomination must be supported by at least twenty other beneficiary community members.
- The nomination should include a letter of motivation along with the curriculum vitae of the nominated candidate, as well as the names, contact details, and signatures of at least twenty beneficiary community members that support the nomination of the candidate.
- The letter of motivation should include a confirmation that the nominated candidate has accepted the nomination.
- Candidates may not nominate themselves.

To avoid conflicts of interests in the decision-making processes of the Trust, nominated candidates should not have any immediate association with an individual or organisation that will directly benefit from the Trust by applying to the Trust for support.
Candidates must:
- Be in good standing in their professional fields and in the community.
- Have a broad perspective of the developmental needs of the community within a 50km radius of the plant and not represent the interests of only one part of the community or the interests of one development sector.
- Have strong networks in diverse sectors of the community.
- Have a demonstrated track record of leadership in the community.
- Be able to dedicate a substantial amount of time to the governance of the Trust on a voluntary basis.
- Be a resident within a 50km radius of the plant.
- Offer the possibility, through their involvement as a trustee, of ensuring the efficient, effective, transparent, and credible operation of the Trust.
- Nominations of black women candidates is especially encouraged.

- Be affiliated to, a representative of, or an official of a political party.

- Have a criminal record, have been liquidated or sequestrated in the last 10 years.

In making final decisions about the candidates to be appointed as a community beneficiary trustee, the Trust will ensure that the board of trustees has a good mix of financial, legal, strategic and community development competencies and broadly reflects a diversity of interests in the community.

Nominations will be accepted until ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ and not thereafter. Nominated candidates will be notified about the date for interviews. The choice of trustees appointed will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
