The doors of Hebron Home which is registered as a Cluster foster and safe home for children opened its doors in October 2019. They provide a number of programmes and projects which prepares young children to become self-sustainable from an early age which includes but not limited to:
1. Hard Skills Training – Teaching young girls from the age of 6 to generate income by selling handmade objects.
2. Wool Art – Teaching knitting, embroidery, crochet & loom-knitting to young children. This enables them to generate an income by selling goods that they made.
3. Huiswerk-Slim afterschool programme – Helping approximately 40 children, Grade 1-5 with basic reading, writing and mathematic programmes.
4. Hebron Home, House of Safety for children – Offering accommodation to children from ages 0-12 years requiring immediate intervention due to dire situations at home because of abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
These are just some of the programmes which provides hope to young people in the De Aar communities.
